"THE QUIET ONE" 1948

The story of a lonely young boy growing up in Harlem.

Using a semi-documentary technique, the film-makers realistically capture the hostile environment which leads the boy to delinquency.

The youth is sent to Wiltwyck School for rehabilitation, where a psychiatrist and counselor try to break through the wall of silence which the boy uses to hide his fear and bitterness.

BRILLIANCE ??

THERE ARE CONVERSATIONS WE WANT TO HEAR. THAT'S WHAT CONTENT IS FOR. SITUATIONS WE WANT TO BE A FLY ON THE WALL FOR. EXPERIENCES WE WANT TO RAISE THE HAIRS ON OUR NECKS W OUT HAVING TO FALL VICTIM TO THE CONSEQUENCES OF THESE EXPERIENCES.

PUNCHING A NIGGA IN HIS SHIT FOR LOOKING AT YOU LIKE YA HEAD MADE OUT OF A FUCKIN FIRE; CHEATING ON YA WIZ WITHOUT HER GETTING WIND OF IT AT ALL; BEING ABLE TO TAKE CARE OF EVERYONE YOU LOVE WITH THE FRUITS OF YOUR CREATIVE/EXPRESSIVE LABOR... ALL OF THESE ARE CIRCUMSTANCES THAT I WOULDN'T MIND LIVING/RELIVING AND THE ONLY WAY TO DO SO WITHOUT THE CONSEQUENCES I'VE FACED FOR THESE LIFESTYLE CHOICES IS TO BE KNEE DEEP IN CONTENT.

THEY CALL US DEAD. THEY SAY WE'RE DEAD INSIDE. SLAVES TO SCREENS. I FEEL MORE ALIVE THAN EVER BEFORE. IS IT BECAUSE I DIED ?
